ting when everybody got together dey all put up a lil money for da Biggest Redfish and dey let
Vincent hold it and dat was as close as he came to dat money. we ran to our 1st. spot and i tink
everybody's boat but Vincent's boat caught at least 2 redfish right dare all most under dare boat, i
did see dem catch a few Hard-Heads. we caught all our big reds on live cocahoes under a slidein
sinker. now y'all allready know dat Ripp's Hoes are all ways Hand Picked, only da best for my
customers. now after dat 1st. stop we all kinda went in different directions. our marsh fishin was very
slow today, matter of fact we never landed a fish in da marsh, we had 3 nice reds on but we never
got one close enough to net. we ended our day back in da 1st. place we started and dats when Mr.

twice times, now dat would be 2 times for y'all city slickers, before we got done with everyting. as
i'am makein dis here report its still rainin hard. one ting about da rain, it don't make a shit to da Fish
cuz dey allready wet. Report by Hook Island Charters
GRAINGER LAKE - Black bass are slow. Crappie are good on chartreuse and yellow jigs in 10 to 15
feet of water. White bass are slow. Blue catfish are good on Zote soap and shad. Yellow catfish are
fair on trotlines baited with live perch.
SABINE LAKE - Sabine Lake fishing is great under the birds. We have had the birds working all
month long catching trout to 4 lbs on glow/chart plastics tipped with fish bite shrimps. The fishing is
the best in the middle of the lake on the south end when the wind lays the shrimp are coming up
and the trout are feeding on them. Also the ribbon fish are showing up and the bigger trout are
running them. The Louisiana shore line is still great for flounder. The first 2 weeks of the month the
bite has slowed down as the water is warming up. The sabine pass ship channel is producing some
speckled trout to 6 lbs when the wind is not too strong. The sabine jetties is great fishing for bigger
trout to 7 lbs - we have had limits when the wind lays; best bait is top water early and then
glow/chart 1/4 jig. Red fishing is picking up at the Sabine Jetties with limits of redfish to 20 lbs.
TOLEDO BEND RESERVOIR - BASS: Good. Start in 6ft to 12ft and throw a split shot rigged smokin
green finesse worm or a challenger little easy top water bait in clear shad color.as day warms move
to end of points in 12'to 18'and throw a bumble bee colored DD14 crank bait or a carolina rigged
watermelon candy finesse worm. Remember to spray all your baits with Kick N Bass.
BREAM: Excellent. On crickets and Berkly Power Maggots in shallow flats.
CRAPPIE: Good. over brush in 15' to 25' of water on shiners and 1/16 oz. chartreuse & purple/white
colored tubes.
STRIPER'S: Good. Use electronics to locate bait fish along flats in 24' to 30' of water. Then use
large Rat L Traps or live carp in these areas.
CATFISH: Good. In 6' to 12' of water on live bream and liver around shallow flats at mouths of
creeks .
